I don’t like to share my negative personal stuff on my public social media but I feel comfy with you guys here on OF and I think I owe you an explanation for why I disappeared for a bit. Plus a lil picture in case you don’t care about all that 🧍♀️
If you’ve known me for a while, you know I tend to take pretty long breaks from posting online for a mental health reset (one of those breaks lasted like 3 years LOL). I needed another one this past month, and I learned a lot during it. I get these phases where I become very low energy and have zero social battery, including reading and responding to messages, even from my closest friends. I wanted to figure out why I get such bad depressive phases, and after several doctors appointments, we figured out that I have bipolar type 2. During my “hypomanic” phases I’m super stoked to create content and talk to you guys, but then when the depressive phases hit, all my motivation goes out the window. While a diagnosis puts my mind at ease, it obviously doesn’t solve the problem. I’m starting medication and working on solutions for myself! I can’t promise that I’ll never need to take breaks again, but I honestly felt really terrible that I didn’t tell anyone I was leaving and couldn’t muster up the energy to even check messages. In the future, I will be better about giving you guys a heads up. If you’re reading this, I can’t tell you how much I appreciate you sticking around. You’re great 🥰
Anyway, I’m going to Fanime this weekend, and I might be cosplaying something casual! If you’re there, hmu! I’m excited to get back out into the real world again 😌
