Fishnet stockings were the rage for flappers & showgirls in the 1920s. Later on Burlesque performers & pin up girls were seen wearing them. By the 1950s fishnets were becoming a Hallmark of old Hollywood glamour.

My first interview. A dear friend of mine attended Super Bowl LVIII. I'm honored to have him be my first interview here on The Gentlemen's Society.

Tell me about buying the tickets. How far ahead, how did you buy them, how much?
I started looking for tickets as soon as my team won the game to advance to the SB. Basically at that time all tickets are in brokers hands, ticket master, vivid, etc. There were plenty to choose from but the prices are absolutely insane, plus on top of the ticket price they add on fees. This year I had to go up a level to get tickets I was willing to pay for. Last year I was able to be on field level for less money than this year’s second level. So I was on the 20 yard line second level second row, all in price was $10,500 per seat.
How many times have you been to a Super Bowl? Will you go again? This is my second SB game, it’s my wife’s third, I have to admit she is the real fan, I’m just lucky she takes me. I believe I will go to as many more games as the Kansas City Chiefs can get in. We have been season ticket holders for them for over 40 years! I bought them for my wife for her birthday.

What was the best thing about attending the Super Bowl?
I would have to say having your home team in the Super Bowl is like no other excitement in Sports. I have been to multiple Indy 500 races in May. I have been season ticket holder for the Daytona 500 for 20 years. I have been to a World Series in KC. But all of those combined don’t equal the NFL Super Bowl! I have now been to two SB games, LVII, LVIII, both very different events with the same outcome.
What was your least favorite thing about Super Bowl?
I have been thinking about this question a lot. Honestly I can’t come up with anything for this years SB, other than how long the breaks in the game were for TV commercial time, it really has an affect on the game, in my opinion, the commercials always come when something exciting happens in the game, say a pass interception or fumble, it takes momentum away from both teams it seems.

What celebrities did you see or sit near?
Didn’t really see any celebrities up close, I could look across the stadium and see into a few suites. Saw Jimmy Kimmel, Carrot top, Kelly Clarkson, Wayne Newton. Reba was right in front of us.
If you took me with you, what should I have worn to be in Super Bowl fashion? Where would we have dinner before the game?
If you would have gone to the game with me you should be wearing sports wear for the team you’re cheering on, you can make team wear very sexy, it was an indoor event so no coats required black short leather skirt, or shorts, or long pants go with red jerseys very well, tennis shoes are a must, lots of walking to get in. With the timing of the game this year we would be going to dinner after the game, I know a nice little Italian restaurant off the strip, nice dark place, private booths, the excitement of winning the game will lead to a glorious evening in all sorts of ways!😈

What one thing was the biggest difference at Super Bowl than any other NFL game?
The biggest difference in the Super Bowl game over other NFL games is the length. TV time takes up an incredible amount of time. The halftime show adds to the length as well. The pregame show is much more entertaining than a normal game, the national anthem is about it for a normal game.
Was food & drinks the same or distinctly different?
This Super Bowl the arena had stores on each level, you walked in with a credit card and was charged $25 minimum, you picked up what you wanted and left, if you had more than $25 it was charged then. So if you only got one beer it was $25. I have seen shops like that in NYC but my first at a stadium.
Tell me your experience watching the half time show?
I enjoyed watching the frantic setup for the performance! Usher was good, Alicia Keys was great, didn’t really know who else was there until I watched it on repeat. It was extremely loud, very deep base you could feel in your body!
