It’s Monday baby! New video coming this week 🤩 ever been to Holbox Mexico ? It’s one of the most charming islands I’ve ever been to, stay tuned for the details 🥰!
Kalimera my friends! Saying hello today all the way from Athens Greece. I spent the last week exploring the ancient monuments of Athens. I highly recommend taking the tour of the famous Acropolis. You can also check out my travel video I made of my Acropolis tour on OFTV :) .
Here's some interesting facts I found out about the Acropolis on my tour :
1.) The Acropolis construction started in 5th century BC and is said to be designed by architect Pericles.
2.) The Acropolis of Athens is home to the Parthenon, the Propylaia, the Erechtheion and the Temple of Athena Nike. These buildings are visible from almost every angle of Athens.
3.) The Parthneon is the temple for goddess Athena, this temple also served as the treasury for Athens.
4.)Inside the Partheno area, there once stood a massive statue of Athena Promachos (champion). The statue stood 9 metres high and symbolised the victory and the strength of the Athenians over the Persians. Pheidias (the statue’s sculptor) placed a shield in her left hand and a spear in her right one. It's said Emperor Theodosius stole the statue and brought it to Constantinople in the year 426 AD. In 1204, inhabitants of the city ruined the statue. They believed the statue was to blame for a crusader invasion they suffered.
5.) Greece wants the Parthenon Marbles returned, and apparently they aren't to happy about it. Much of the art that was once home to Acropolis is now gone. Some of the ancient artefacts are housed in museums. One of the controversial museum piece is the Parthenon Marbles. They are now on display in the British museum of London and the Greek government has order they return these marbles to their home land and be displayed in the museum of Athens.
Be sure to check out my video on OFTV for more videos! Have an amazing rest of your week xoxo - Ciao Mila 🥰
Greetings from America today! Let's not forget that 20 years ago today tragedy struck at the Twin towers. Lets all take a moment to remember and honor the lives and families who lost their loved ones and the survivors that are still struggling from this horrific attack. We will never forget the firefighters, civilians and everyone who risked their lives searching for survivors and helping one another through this entire crisis. If you are in the New York area I recommend checking out and paying tribute to the beautiful twin tower memorial and museum that now stands there. God Bless America - Mila ❤🤍💙
Monday’s are always full of fun for me 🤗 Did you know in Mykonos island alone there are over 365 churches 🤯!! Here’s a pic of me at my favorite one in Merchia beach.
I like to start off my week with positivity and 5 minutes of meditation ☀️ ! I’m wishing everyone a productive and happy week. I’ll leave you with this quote:
“The world is not something outside of me but something offered to me” - Anonymous
Take advantage of every opportunity that comes your way this week, don’t take anything for granted
Good morning babes!!! Finally enjoying a bit of the weekend, was reminiscing over my trip to Monaco in 2019 before corona. Every time I go to France I always make time to do a couple days in Monaco.
Did you know the entire principality of Monaco spans only 0.78 square miles! This makes it roughly 3/4s the size of New York’s Central Park. Despite its small size its home to some of the most iconic beaches, gardens and museums. This picture above is at my favourite hotel De Paris Monte-Carlo. I hoping to return this fall 🥰
Hi Friends! I hope you all are having a productive week so far. I wanted to shed some light on the wild fires that are ravaging through Greece and Turkey. Since July 28th over 200 fires have started in Turkey and Greece.
These are not the only wild fires taking place in the world at the moment. We have seen these fires erupt from Australia, California, Oregon, and Brazil. I have seen many support groups and go fund me accounts to help support the victims and resources to fight these fires for those regions and I would like to see the same for Turkey and Greece. If you would like to help to I have listed some reputable organizations that you can donate to:
Turkish Philanthropy Funds - www.tpfund.org
Greek Reporter - www.gofundme.com/f/help-evia-greece
The Hellenic Initiative - www.thehellenicinitiative.org/donate-now
WWF- wwf.panda.org
Apart from donating, you can also help by educating yourself on how to reduce your own carbon footprint. Simple everyday task such as recycling, taking shorter showers, turning off unnecessary lights, driving a eco friendly car and utilizing public transportation. All these little things make a difference. We only have 1 planet so lets take care of it. I hope you all have found this information helpful if you would like to add any other organizations helping the cause please send me a DM and I will add it to the post ❤- Ciao xx
All aboard! How would you like to have me as your captain? I’m kicking off my weekend sailing around the Greek islands. I’m going to be planning on hitting the Cyclades this week 🥰 Cant wait to share my trip with you!!! Stay safe and healthy friends 😘
Good morning guys! I'm just getting back today from one of my favourite weekend getaways, Mykonos! To update you all on Greece's restrictions, there have been some slight changes, as of July 17th until July 26th their government has implemented a curfew from 1:00am- 6:00am with no music at any establishments. I still recommend you go if you have a trip planned. This restriction will end Monday and there's still plenty to do during the day between beaches, boats and restaurants.
Regardless of this new restriction I was still able to enjoy some of my go to spots. The pics and videos above are from Jackie O's. Its a multi gender bar located in Super paradise beach perched up on the mountain side which gives you amazing views of the sea. Normally its a high energy party place but with no music I decided to experience their fine dining section. If this is not your scene there are plenty other beach bars/ restaurants to check out such as Scorpios, Principote and Alemagou. Hope you all have an amazing rest of your week ! - Mila xoxo
Good afternoon babes! I can't stop thinking about where to make my next travel plans! I'm thinking Thialand! The island of Puket just opened to tourists of all countries on July 1st 2021.If you are interested in visiting here is what you need to know, you must obtain a special tourist visa, bring a PCR test and undergo a mandatory 7-day quarantine upon arrival. Where would be your first destination to visit?
Sending out some Tuesday love for you all by starting your morning off with a inspirational quote ❤!
“Climb the mountain so you can see the world, not so the world can see you. ~ David McCullough.
I love this quote, this is so true in todays society, I feel we are so overly involved with showing off on social media we forget to enjoy the experience. Its always nice to take a step back in life and be grateful for the people and experiences life throws at us.
