Tips to support self care this holiday season ❤️
1. The holiday season can mean that we may be around more individuals that can bring out all different emotions within us.
Supporting ourselves before our gatherings with practicing possible internal conversations with the individuals we may be concerned of having conversation with as well as preparing how we can best support the conversation in the way healthiest for you too.
Also, preparing a list of our main self care tools we enjoy most that we can come back to use during gatherings in any moment.
The more prepared and resourced we are, the less reactive and impacted we will be by our external environment and all within it
2. Reminding yourself if any conversation becomes over activating, you can instantly guide more calm back to yourself by bringing awareness of slowing your breath into your belly and bringing awareness to feeling your feet connected with the space around you / the ground, etc.
3. Take and create moments of silence and solitude for yourself and remember - this is not selfish to do so no matter if anyone says anything about it. The holidays especially can bring out pressure to be on the go, please others as well as continually socialize.
For most of us, this can lead to serious burn out if we do not include breaks and care for ourselves
Holiday burnout can lead us to
-breaking down into an emotion
-undesired over drinking or over eating
-more aggressive arguments or conversations vs grounded conversation
-inability to relate with another as we ourselves are too burnt out and nervous system needing its own support
-feeling anxiety and tightness in the chest
-snapping in anger during a conversation and more
4. Whatever you feel, you are allowed to feel it. No matter if anyone says anything. No matter if someone expects you to shift your feelings or emotions. You are allowed to feel whatever is moving through you this holiday season.

5. Spending even 5 minutes for connecting with your body in slow deep breathing with a set intention before your gatherings and during them
Find an intention that you would like to bring into your gathering, holiday conversations or holiday season all together

Tips for when life feels overwhelming ❤️
1. Setting alarms for yourself throughout the day for a few moments just for YOU
-to slow down and breathe
-to move your body
-to do something to bring a smile or calm
-to intentionally release emotion or express

-to reset or regroup for needed changes for the rest of the day
Setting alarms allows us to aid in structure and breaks for ourselves which are much needed when life becomes overwhelming and time can feel it blends

2. Find a space to fully move energy from within
This looks different for all of us but finding spaces and ways to fully drop into moving what’s felt from within

Whatever way in which you can use MOVEMENT of your body parts - this allows release so energy does not just build and bubble over leading in snapping, emotional breakdown, etc
3. Write out your days to help in process
If we lead life from the mind - all can feel that much more overwhelming for us
The mind can only hold so much so when life is showing up with more overwhelm, the more we can place on paper or safely outward - the better
Sorting our thoughts, needs and plans on paper.
Planning the day and needs ahead.
Writing lists for ourselves.
All of this helps bring the overwhelm from the mind - to process better through the placing of it outward
4. Find a word or mantra to use and come back to
There are endless studies that show the power repeating mantras and words has for calming the nervous system and body

5. Find a song that brings instant joy to you - play it often 🤍
